Clinic Director
is the management staff person who is responsible for oversight of the clinic's daily operations. If you have concerns or issues that can't be addressed by your counselor or case manager, contact the clinic director. |

Client Rights Officer

Community support program services:

Community Support Program Provider/Case Manager
is skilled at forming relationships and helping clients with emotional/mental disorders or alcohol or other drug problems to manage symptoms and relationships with others. Case managers also have a specialized knowledge of community resources. Your case manager can help you to identify your daily living needs and assist you with obtaining resources to ensure that these needs are met. |
Psychiatric services:
services provided by a licensed physician specializing in psychiatric illnesses. |
Case management: services provided to assist and support individuals in developing skills and to monitor overall services. |
A Consumer
is a person who receives services from a mental health or alcohol/drug addiction treatment agency. |
Partial Hospitalization:
structured activities for three to six hours a day in an effort to prevent psychiatric hospitalization. |
Detox:
services provided to individuals suffering from withdrawal symptoms. |
A Counselor/Therapist
is trained to do family, marital, individual and group therapy. Staff persons who provide mental health therapy must have a degree in counseling, social work, nursing or psychology and be licensed by the Counselor and Social Worker Board, Board of Nursing or the Ohio Board of Psychology. Staff persons providing drug and alcohol counseling must be certified by the Ohio Credentialing Board for Chemical Dependency Professionals or have a scope of practice in drug and alcohol counseling through their license from the Counselor and Social Worker Board. |
Transitional services:
provided to help an individual return to the community after hospitalization, including housing and other support services. |
Residential:
24-hour intensive programming in a safe, drug-free facility. |
A Psychiatrist
is a medical doctor or doctor of osteopathic medicine who has completed a residency in the specialty of psychiatry. The psychiatrist determines the need for medication and prescribes it when it is necessary. Psychiatrists also see clients on an ongoing basis to monitor medication effects and to make medication adjustments. The psychiatrist will answer questions about your medication. Psychiatrists do not provide counseling. |
Residential:

hospitalization for those individuals suffering from acute/severe withdrawal symptoms. |
A Psychologist
has a doctorate or masters degree in psychology and is licensed by the Ohio Board of Psychology. Psychologists are specially trained to do psychological testing. Psychological tests are used for specific clinical reasons and may not be necessary in your care. Psychologists are also trained to do psychotherapy (individual, group or family counseling). |
Medication: prescriptions for medications, supervision of medication (if necessary) and follow-up to determine any adverse reactions, etc. |

Residential/Child Care Workers
are members of the residential/respite care treatment team at Children's Residential Center and Floyd Simantel Clinic. They assist residents with meeting treatment goals. Residential/child care workers monitor and provide supervision for residents in accordance with policies and procedures. They assist residents with household activities, discharge planning, and accessing community resources. Residential/child care workers also monitor residents who are learning to self administer medication and with completion of special projects. |
Emergency:
crisis services that are available 24 hours a day, days a week (phone or walk-in). |
